Pastor Aubrey Miller
Aubrey Miller, the charismatic pastor of Faith Church at Oxmoor Valley, is a shepherd with a spiritual conviction, moral aptitude and old-fashioned wisdom to lead people back to God.
Pastor Aubrey received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Samford University; a Master of Arts in Communication from The University of Alabama, he pursued theological study at Emory University, and he has served as lay pastor in churches in Birmingham, Vicksburg, Memphis and Houston before founding Faith Church. Pastor married his childhood sweetheart, the former Beverly Harris. The two met at Kiddie Land Park as children and they are as in love today as they were then.
Beverly is a lifetime educator and recently retired as a Principal in the Shelby County School System. Beverly was a visionary education leader, establishing the first Shelby County Pre-K program as well as launching the County’s first “Leader in Me” school. Faith Church members rejoice in the fact that Bev is NOT your run of the mill First Lady – she is truly a “phenomenal woman.”
In 1990, Pastor Aubrey planted Faith Church with 15 committed members. Today, the ministry continues to grow at a rate of “1 life at a time”. Under his leadership, Faith has taken 2 giant leaps – from the campus of Birmingham Southern College and most recently from Ensley to Lakeshore Parkway in the historic Oxmoor valley.
As a development professional, Pastor Aubrey has served as President of the Baptist Health Foundation, Executive Director of the Alabama Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and for the past three years has served as Senior VP and Chief Development Officer of the YMCA of Greater Birmingham. In 1995, Pastor Aubrey accepted an appointment to the Cabinet of Governor Fob James as Executive Director of Tourism and Travel and was later recruited by Southern Living Magazine as the publication’s Director of Tourism and Travel. He presently channels his civic and business energies into his role as President of the Shelby County Board of Education and as a member of the Board of Directors of First US Bank.
When asked how he finds the time for so many endeavors he responds by saying, “ministry is life…every endeavor in life is just another opportunity to live out the Gospel”.
Pastor and Beverly have two grown daughters. Amy and her husband Will, now make their home in Atlanta and they have three toddlers, Boyde, Brooks and Bennett. Alison and her husband, Evan Blackwell, currently reside in Los Angeles.
